Yolanda “GMA” Morehead, 53, of Middletown, Connecticut, passed away on May 25, 2026. Born on April 4, 1973, in Middletown, she attended Middletown High School and was a dedicated employee of Stop & Shop for more than 20 years. She was also known for her incredible cooking and took great joy in preparing meals for family gatherings and special occasions. Yolanda was often the life of the party, filling every room with laughter, dancing, and unforgettable memories.

She leaves behind her three beloved sons, Rodney Johnson, Rajahn Johnson, and Jakari Freeman of Middletown CT; her cherished grandchildren, Rahmel Johnson, Rashad Johnson, and Rylah Johnson. Yolanda also leaves behind to cherish her mother and best friend, Charlene Morehead; her father, Kevin Simmons of Middletown CT; her siblings, Tiffany Morehead, William Morehead of Middletown CT, and Seryna Simmons of Windsor Locks CT; Three nieces Nakeira Morehead, Essence Johnson and Tajahnae Brock and her beloved partner, Ronald Reid of Middletown CT.

Yolanda will be deeply missed by her family and friends. She was a beautiful, genuine soul who was always there for others in their time of need. Her laughter, love, and unforgettable spirit will forever live on in all who knew her.

Visitation will be held on Friday June 5th from 10 to 11 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. at Cross Street AME Zion Church, 440 West St, Middletown. Burial will be at Pine Grove Cemetery.
