Winifred "Winnie" (Maynard) Burr, 79, of Higganum, wife of the late Floyd I. Burr, died Friday, June 9, 2023 at Middlesex Hospital after a brief illness surrounded by her family.

Winnie was born in Middletown, daughter of the late Hilbert "Pete" Maynard and Ida (Hyatt) Maynard.  Prior to her retirement, Winnie was employed with Regional 17 Schools as a secretary for 28 years.

Winnie is survived by three daughters, Lori LaBella (Lou) of Portland, Randi LaPierre and Rebecca Viens (Jason) of Higganum, nine grandchildren, Michael (Amelia), Matthew (Emily), Mark and Taylor (Tim) LaBella, Ashley (Joshua) Caviness, J.R. LaPierre and Kaleigh (Ricky) Cardoza, Allyson (Alex) and Toby Viens, two great grandchildren, Brinley and Harlow LaBella and special and supportive members of the family, Howard Burr and Bertin Iriarte.  She also leaves behind her sister-in-law Gloria Maynard, brothers-in-law Les Anderson and Vernon Burr and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews whom she loved dearly.  She was predeceased by her sister, Carol Anderson, her brother, William Maynard and her sister-in-law Dorothy Burr.

Calling hours will be on Tuesday, June 20, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. followed by a funeral service at 7:00 p.m. at Biega Funeral Home, 3 Silver St. Middletown.  Burial will be at the convenience of the family.  Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Middlesex Health Cancer Center, Middletown, CT.  To share memories or express condolences online, please visit www.biegafuneralhome.com
