William A. Thody Sr., 95, beloved husband of 74 years to Joan (Nenninger) Thody, passed away on February 6, 2025. Bill was born in Durham and was the son of the late William H. and Helen (Banta) Thody.

Besides his wife Joan, he leaves behind four children and their spouses. Bill (Gail) Thody of Colchester, Frank "Bruce" (Debbie) Thody of Durham, Bonnie (Doug) Stender of Durham and Ronald (Lori) of Southington, Eight Grandchildren, Several Great Grandchildren, brothers Robert and Amil Thody and sister Helen Hepp.

Bill retired over 30 years ago and was a long-standing member of The International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 478. He and his wife, Joan loved traveling the U.S. from coast to coast in their various campers, vans or motorhomes. They spent the winters in FL, returning to CT for the Spring and summer. He loved clamming in Maine, his vegetable garden, his Yankees and most of all his family.

We would like to thank all of the amazing and caring staff at Twin Maples Healthcare in Durham. They are truly a family-oriented nursing facility and treated him and all of us like family.
