Walter F. DeVeau, 83, of Norwich, Connecticut, passed away peacefully on August 10, 2026. Born in Stamford, Connecticut, Walter was a man of faith, service, and compassion. He proudly served in the United States Navy from 1962 to 1966 and later graduated from Eastern Connecticut State University.

A devoted member of the Baha'i Faith, Walter served for many years on the Local Spiritual Assembly of Norwich. His faith shaped his life and inspired his commitment to unity, prayer, service, and kindness toward others. He was especially devoted to supporting fellow veterans and offering encouragement to those facing difficult times. He will be remembered for his unwavering faith, generous spirit, love of storytelling, and dedication to family.

Walter was preceded in death by his wife, Dawn Lamb DeVeau, whose passing in 2024 was deeply felt. Their years together were an important part of his life, and he missed her deeply following her passing.

He is survived by his twin children, Crystal (DeVeau) Snyder (Paul Eichkorn) and Christopher DeVeau; and by his beloved grandsons, Nathan Snyder, Noah Snyder, Austin DeVeau, and Devon DeVeau.

As his children, we honor our father with remembrance, compassion, and peace. We are grateful for his service to his country, the strength of his faith, and the family legacy he leaves behind.

A graveside service with military honors will be held on Thursday, August 20, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at the Connecticut State Veterans Cemetery in Middletown, Connecticut. Family and friends are welcome to attend.
