Obituary

Walentyna (Hrubiszewska) Tasak, 97, of Manchester, wife of the late Leon Tasak, passed away on Sunday May 21, 2023 at Crestfield Rehab Center, Manchester.

She was born on June 24, 1925 in Uscilug, Poland, daughter of the late Piotr and Michalina (Tracuk) Hrubiszewska. At age 15, Walentyna was enslaved by the Nazi authorities and forced to become a farm laborer in Germany until the end of World War II.  In 1951 she immigrated to the United States with her husband and two children.

Walentyna is survived by a son, Richard and his wife Nancy (Czarnota) Tasak of Manchester; and a daughter, Irene (Tasak) White of Middletown. She was predeceased by her son-in-law, Steven White.

She also leaves her grandchildren, who she proudly supported and encouraged; Patrick (Kelli) White, Melissa (Scott) McNaughton, Krystina (Jeff) Lieder, Alexandra (Andrew) Groff and Nancy's daughter Kirby (Drew) Adams.  She was especially proud and received great joy from the accomplishments of her great-grandchildren; Tyler White, Elizabeth Lee Adams and Henry Groff.

Walentyna is also survived by her extended family in Poland.
