Obituary

Vincent Peter Malone, a lifelong resident of Middletown, Connecticut, passed away peacefully on November 2, 2025, at the age of 86. Born on February 2, 1939, he was the son of the late Vincent and Mary (Baranoska) Malone, Sr.

Throughout a distinguished career in education, Vincent served the Middletown Public Schools with devotion and leadership, ultimately holding the position of Associate Superintendent of Schools. His steady guidance, compassion, and commitment to student success left an enduring mark on the community he loved.

Following his retirement from education, Vincent continued his dedication to helping others by working with the Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP). In both his professional and volunteer roles, he was guided by a deep sense of civic duty and kindness. He additionally found great joy in working at the Portland West golf course as a Ranger and as the women's assistant golf coach for Mercy High School in Middletown.

Beyond his public service, Vincent found great joy in travel—especially in exploring Europe and taking memorable cruises with his wife, Barbara. Together they shared a remarkable life filled with love, laughter, and adventure. Their 63rd wedding anniversary would have been celebrated on November 17, 2025.

Vincent is survived by his beloved wife, Barbara Malone; his daughter Elizabeth (Betsy) Malone and her husband Eric Furlong of Newport Beach, California; and his daughter Jennifer Malone and her husband Penn Burris of Golden, Colorado, sister JoAnn Martone of Middletown, and godchild Jody Martone Menard of Wallingford. He is also survived by Susan Wilson who showed Vincent and his family special care and compassion.

He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered for his warmth, wisdom, and unwavering kindness.
