Vernon E. Burr, Sr., 90, of Middletown, husband of the late Dorothy (Ceder) Burr, died Saturday, December 9, 2023 at his home with family at his side.

Vernon was born in Middletown, son of the late Floyd C. Burr and Marion (Rich) Kwasniewski.  Prior to his retirement, Vernon was employed as a machinist with Anderson Oil.  He was a veteran of the Korean War serving with the U.S. Army.

Vernon is survived by a daughter, Tracy Caffery and her husband Robert of Clinton, four sons, Vernon E. Burr, Jr. of Meriden, Alan Hewitt-Burr and his wife Mary Jean "MJ" of Middletown, Gary Burr of Middletown, Brian Burr and his wife Loree of Middletown, twelve grandchildren, Melissa Hammons, Kevin Burr, Nicole Burr, Jarrod Burr, Edward Hewitt, Symone Burr, Mariah Hewitt, Amber-Lyn Burr, Shane Hewitt, Kortney Burr, Alexander Paluha and Alison Paluha, thirteen great-grandchildren, and two beloved pets, Penny and Mandy.  He was predeceased by a son, James Burr, two grandchildren, Luke Burr and Kyle Paluha, and a brother, Floyd Burr.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday December 20, 2023 at 7 p.m. at Biega Funeral Home 3 Silver Street, Middletown.  Friends may gather prior to the service from 5 to 7 p.m.  Those who wish may send memorial contributions to American Cancer Society 825 Brook St., I-91 Tech Ctr.
