Thomas M. Kobylenski, 82, of Higganum, beloved husband of, Yvonne (Bather) Kobylenski, died peacefully at his home with his family at his side.
Thomas was born in Middletown son of the late, Gustaf and Mary M. (Thompson) Kobylenski. Thomas valued hard work and had many happy years employed at local businesses including Russel Company, Food Fair, Pratt and Whitney, Peltons and Middle Oak. He was a member of Saint James Episcopal Church in Haddam and was one of the founding father's of Haddam Volunteer Ambulance. He tirelessly responded to ambulance calls for people in need. He spent countless hours with his grandchildren and great grandchildren at little league games and practices.
Besides his wife Yvonne, Thomas is survived by a daughter, Jennifer Cote and her husband Rene Cote, Jr. of Higganum, and Thomas Kobylenski and his fiancé Joy Wampole of Florida, four grandchildren Thomas W. Lord, of East Hampton, Jonathan M. Lord, of Phoenix Arizona, Darielle Mierz and her husband Michael of Higganum, Jeremy Cote of East Hampton. Two great grandchildren, Sebastian and Vincent Mierz. He was predeceased by a brother James Kobylenski.
Thomas will be forever missed by countless family and friends.
Funeral services will be held Friday, November 22, 2024, at 7 pm at Biega Funeral Home, 3 Silver Street, Middletown. Friends may call prior to the service from 5 to 7pm. Memorial contributions may be sent to Shriner's Hospital for Children or Haddam Volunteer Ambulance.
