Theresa Samolik (Terry/Tootsie/Babci), passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 6, 2026 in the embrace of her family who loved her so much. She was 95 years old.

She was born on July 17, 1931, daughter of the late Sophie and Andrew Jascot. On October 30, 1954 she married Theodore Samolik Sr. and together they built a home and raised their family in Middletown.

Simple pleasures made her happy - growing flowers, a good book, a crossword puzzle, a knitting project, a hot cup of tea and a warm shawl. Family gatherings at her house always included a hearty Polish meal and the family favorite, blueberry buckle, baked with berries fresh from the garden. Terry was always there for her family, helping in so many ways, and her grandchildren and great grandchildren were the light of her life.

Terry leaves her children, Jeanne Samolik and Theodore A. Samolik (Kathy), six grandchildren, Kristin, Brendan, Kevin, Bonnie, Kyle and Amanda, and two great grandchildren, Miles and Kiva. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Theodore and her brother, Edward Jascot.

Calling hours will be on Friday, September 11th from 5 to 7 p.m. at Biega Funeral Home, 3 Silver Street, Middletown. Her Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, September 12th at Saint Mary Church, 45 Freestone Avenue, Portland. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, please remember her kindness by passing it on and making a contribution to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, American Cancer Society or the charity of your choice. 

She will forever be in our hearts - rest well, Babci.
