Suzanne (Stannard) Collins, 76, of Durham, wife of the late Bradford Collins, died Tuesday January 16, 2024 at Middlesex Hospital. She was born in Middletown, daughter of the late Cleveland and Cecelia (Pehota) Stannard. Suzanne was a registered nurse working as a staff nurse, Lamaze coach and private duty.

Sue was an active volunteer for the Durham Fair where she was an honorary member, enjoyed gardening and was an avid Huskies fan. She enjoyed reading, crafts and time with her friends and family. Known for her fun but straightforward personality, you could depend on Sue to offer her candid opinion on anything from cooking to politics.

Suzanne is survived by her sons, Eric Collins (Jason) of Fairfield, CT; David Collins (Stefanie) brother John W. Stannard (Janet) of Wasilla, Alaska, grandchildren Grayson and Harrison and nieces Emily Kahnke (Sam), Jillian Collins, Jennie Stannard and nephews Billy Stannard and Owen Nelson.

She was predeceased by her husband, Bradford and sister, Barbara Stannard Nelson.

Calling hours will be held on Friday January 26th from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Biega Funeral Home, 3 Silver St. Middletown. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
