Susan Hale, 81, of Niantic, and formerly of Killingworth, peacefully entered perpetual rest on Thursday December 5, 2024 with family by her side. Susan was predeceased in January 2023 by her beloved husband of 52 years, Gary L Hale. Susan also was predeceased by her brother, Grove F. Steele of Haddam, and her parents Grove F Steele and Hilda G Hendrickson Steele of New Britain.

Susan earned a BS in Early Education from Central CT State College and was employed by the State of CT Department of Labor until her retirement in 1999.

In retirement, Susan traveled often with Gary, visiting relatives and many interesting places throughout the United States and Europe.

Susan's affable nature and quick wit delighted all who were blessed to know her. Even in times of adversity, Susan's gentle humor never waned. Susan's love for animals, particularly dogs, knew no bounds.

Susan will be re-united with Gary in a Graveside Service to be held Wednesday December 11th at 10 a.m. at State Veterans Cemetery, 317 Bow Lane in Middletown.
