Obituary

Susan J. Gill, 59, of Wallingford, formerly of Durham, passed away unexpectedly in her sleep Saturday March 30, 2024, at home. She was born in New Haven, the daughter of Barbara (Spaziante) Gill of North Haven, and the late James "Pete" Gill. Sue was a 1982 graduate of Coginchaug High School and proudly retired as a Sergeant Judicial Marshal with the Connecticut Superior Court with over 20 years of service.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her daughter, Christine Arrigoni Blue and her husband Chet; her sisters, Nancy Gill, Lori Gill, and Lynda DelVecchio; her grandchildren, Chester Blue V, and Lillian Blue; and her nephews, Stephen DelVecchio, and Robert and Andrew Gleason. She was predeceased by her brother, James A. Gill III.

Sue's sole purpose in life was to ensure everyone she knew felt loved. Whether you knew her for her lifetime, or had just met, you could count on her for endless belly laughs, a spontaneous dance party, a delicious meal, or a helping hand, always with a smile on her face and without ever counting the cost. Like her dad, Sue was always the first one on the dance floor to get a party started. She was an incredibly talented seamstress, known for her outstanding handmade costumes, volunteering her efforts for countless bridal parties to ensure everyone looked and felt their best on their special day.

Susan was a friend to all, and her love and generosity were bottomless. Her grandchildren were the absolute loves of her life. Her light will be sorely missed by anyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.
