Stanley L. Radziewicz, 93, of Middletown, beloved husband of the late Ann (Bankowski) Radziewicz, died Tuesday, December 6, 2022. He was born in New Britain, son of the late Leon and Victoria (Sokol) Radziewicz. Stanley was a proud veteran of the Korean War, serving with the US Army. Prior to his retirement, he worked as a programmer for Kaman Aerospace in Bloomfield for over 35 years, where he developed long-time friendships.
Stanley was a parishioner of St. Mary of Czestochowa Catholic Church. He was a member of the Polish Falcons and the American Legion. As a young man, he played semi-pro baseball in New Britain, was an avid and accomplished league bowler, and he very much enjoyed attending his sons' and grandchildren's many sporting events. He was their biggest fan … and loving critic.
Stanley is survived by his five sons, Steven Radziewicz and his wife, Pam, of Cromwell; Mark Radziewicz and his wife, Dawn of Blackstone, MA.; Stanley Paul Radziewicz and his wife, Karen, of Middletown; Pete Radziewicz and his wife, Joanne, of Hudson, NH.; and Jim Radziewicz and his wife, Heather, of Middletown; 11 grandchildren: Becky, Peter, Steven, Megan, Kevin, Jacob, Mason, Lucas, Brian, Abigail, and John; and 3 great grandchildren, Lilianna, Cavan, and Soren. He was an outstanding, supportive and caring Dad, "Poopies" / Grampa / Dziadziu / Great Grampa and will be deeply missed. He took immense pride in watching his family grow over the years. He was predeceased by his brother, Henry Radziewicz and sister, Helen Carpenter.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday (Dec. 10), at 8:15 a.m. from Biega Funeral Home, 3 Silver St., Middletown, followed by a 9 a.m. Funeral Liturgy at St. Mary Church, Middletown. Burial, with military honors, will be in Calvary Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Friday, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Biega Funeral Home.
