Sophie (Laczak) Lohneiss, 97, formerly of Middletown, wife of the late Andrew J. Lohneiss, Jr., died Friday April 4, 2025 at Portland Care and Rehab.

She was born in Middletown, the daughter of the late Stanley and Josephine (Noga) Laczak.  Sophie was a receptionist for Dr. Jakubiec DDS practice for many years.

She is survived by her son, Michael Lohneiss and his wife Nancy of Branford; daughter, Debra Purdell and her husband George of East Haddam; two grandchildren, Michael Purdell and his wife Jenna and Jennifer Purdell; three great grandchildren, Kaleigh, Mackenzie and Andrew.  She was predeceased by her sisters, Mary Wasicki, Stacia Rugents, Carol Harmon, and Jeanne Genovesio; brothers, Joseph and John Laczak.

Funeral services are private and there are no calling hours.
