Sophie (Bielot) Blaschik, 100, of Moodus, wife of the late Felix Phillip Blaschik, died Saturday, March 11, 2023, at her home.

She was born in Moodus, daughter of the late Stanley and Anna (Golub) Bielot.  Prior to her retirement, Sophie was a hairdresser and owner of Sophie's Beauty Salon in Moodus for over 30 years. She was member of the St. Bridget of Kildare Ladies Guild, and the East Haddam Senior Center. Sophie taught line dancing into her 80's, enjoyed knitting, bingo, lunches at the Senior Center and led the rosary at Chestelm for many years.

She is survived by her son, Thomas O'Brien and his wife, Charlene Marquis-O'Brien of East Hampton; also several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters, Rose Hubert, Frances Zawilinski, and Mary Shea; and brothers, Frank, John, Joseph, and Walter Bielot.

Her Funeral Liturgy will be held Thursday (Mar. 16 ^th ) at 11:00 a.m. at St. Bridget of Kildare Church, Moodus.  Burial will be in St. Bridget Cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday at St. Bridget Church from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m.  In lieu of flowers, those who wish, may send memorial contributions to the East Haddam Senior Center as follows: East Haddam Senior Club, P.
