Shirley Brown, 79, of Cromwell, peacefully passed away on Thursday, October 5, 2023 at Apple Rehabilitation Center.

She was born in Framingham, Massachusetts, daughter of the late Everett and Clarine (Reeve) Brown.  Shirley retired from Macdonough Elementary School after 38 years teaching first grade and specializing in reading.  Shirley enjoyed traveling with her closest friends, Ellie, Carol, and Jean, they traveled for decades to Aruba – "One Happy Island" and many places in Europe through the years. Shirley was passionate with her sorority, Alpha Delta Kappa ("ADK"), and had sorority sisters that shared many events through the years.

Shirley is survived by her sisters Margot (Bill) Abbott and Marie Samuel; nieces and nephews Donna Huntington, Michael Brown, Christine Desrosiers, Dan Bartlett, Dennis Bartlett, Bill Abbott, Ken Abbott and Cathy Kresnak and several great nieces and nephews.  Shirley was predeceased by siblings, Ken (Joyce) Brown, Judy (John) Bartlett and Charlie (Sonya) Brown.
