Sarif Marquise Stewart, 29, resident of Charlotte, NC, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, August 21, 2024. Raised in Coventry, CT, Sarif was the beloved son of Yanira Hernandez, the late Sarif A. Stewart, and Ricardo Hernandez, Sr.

Sarif is survived by his cherished son, Jahvar Z. Stewart, and his loving brother, Ricardo Hernandez, Jr. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him. Growing up, Sarif enjoyed playing baseball and football. During baseball season he was a talented pitcher and in football, he was known as the "Steamroller". Aside from athletics, Sarif loved riding dirt-bikes, spending time with friends, and welcoming them to his childhood home for sleepovers and pool-parties. After high school, Sarif worked as an asphalt paver for a local paving company.

A visitation for Sarif will be held at Biega Funeral Home, located at 3 Silver Street, Middletown, CT, where the family will receive friends on Thursday, August 29, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.

The funeral service will be held at Biega Funeral Home on Friday, August 30, 2024, at 11:00 AM. Following the service, Sarif will be laid to rest at Indian Hill Cemetery in Middletown, CT.
