Obituary

Salvatrice (Fazzina) Lacana, 87, of Old Lyme, Connecticut, passed away January 18, 2026. She was born to the late Angelo and Angela (Lombardo) Fazzina in Priolo, Sicily on December 27th, 1938.

Salvatrice emigrated from Sicily and worked as a machinist for Peter Paul Electronics until her retirement in 1996. A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, she was a faithful member of St. Paul's Church, volunteering at church functions and participating in prayer groups. She loved bringing family and friends together for her Sunday dinners and remained closely connected with relatives in Sicily and Canada.

Salvatrice is survived by her children Emanuela Imme (and son-in-law Salvatore Imme) and Attilio Lacana (and daughter-in-law Melanie Lacana); grandchildren Elizabeth Lacana, Daniella Lacana, Joseph Bocompani and Christian Bocompani; and many nieces and nephews in Priolo and Connecticut. Salvatrice is predeceased by her husband.

Visitation will be at Biega Funeral Home, Middletown, on January 28, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., followed by a service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be privately held at St. Mary Cemetery, New Britain. In lieu of flowers Salvatrice's family has requested that we each pray the rosary for spiritual growth & healing as well as intercession and protection against evil around the world.   If you would like to make a contribution: Please do so to your church in memory of Salvatrice Lacana for the lost souls in purgatory.
