Ruth (Pitts) Woodcock, 97, of Chester and Deep River, died peacefully January 1, 2023 at Aaron Manor, Chester.

She was born March 14, 1925 in Montclair, NJ, the daughter of the late Charles and Gertrude (Anderson) Pitts.  Ruth retired from Raymond Engineering where she was employed for several years.

She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Woodcock of Fort Lauderdale, FL; sister, Helen Rankin of Centerbrook; granddaughter, Chelsea N. Woodcock of Portland, OR; step son, Peter Woodcock and his wife Sabra of Deep River; also, several nieces and nephews. Ruth was predeceased by her beloved son, Glenn Barton Woodcock; sisters, Elizabeth Calamari, Beverly Morris, and Nancy Pitts; brothers, Charles, Jack, Robert, and William Pitts; step daughter, Linda Woodcock Mosig; and her former husband, Landon "Woody" Bissell Woodcock.  Ruth loved her family who were very close to her.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday (Jan. 7 ^th ) at 1:30 p.m. at Deep River Congregational Church, Deep River.  Private burial will be in Fountain Hill Cemetery, Deep River, after the Memorial Service.
