Haddam

Obituary

After a short illness the family of Rose Driscoll are sad to have lost our sister, Aunt, Great Aunt and Great-great Aunt on July 1st.  Rose was born in Higganum, CT in June 1925, living in Higganum as a child and then moving to her home on the CT river in Haddam, CT shortly after she married.

She was the daughter of the late Anthony and Anna Kuchyt. Rose was married to the late Lester Driscoll for over 40 years and they had one son, her beloved Anthony, also predeceased.

Rose worked the majority of her adult life at Pratt and Whitney in Middletown, meeting many wonderful people that continued to have as longtime friends even after her retirement in 2000.  After that she spent a lot of her time at the Haddam Senior Center where she again made many lifelong friends that shared many like interests such as travel, crafts and music. She sang for several years with the Middlesex Hospital Vocal Chords, which perform two concerts a year and other events in CT.

Rose also loved to have visitors to her Haddam home anytime of the year but especially welcomed family and friends to sit out on her deck to watch the river roll by and be on the lookout for an occasional visiting Bald Eagle.

She will be remembered fondly as a kind, friendly and very social lady who was a devoted member of our family as well as many extended friends and their families.

Rose will be sadly missed but always remembered by her sister Patricia Budney and her husband Eugene Budney of Ivoryton, CT.  Rose will also stay in hearts of her 17 nieces and nephews and their spouses, 25 great nieces and nephews and their spouses and 16 great-great nieces and nephews.  In addition to her husband, son and parents Rose was predeceased by her brothers Robert and Martin Kuchyt.  Also, her sisters Betty Schroeder, Helen Marica and Mary Jean Krajewski.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday July 8th.  Calling hours will be 10:30 to 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter's Church, 30 St. Peter's Lane in Higganum, CT with mass starting at 11:00 a.m. The burial will be directly after at Burr Cemetery, Killingworth Road, Higganum, CT.

In lieu of flowers Rose would have liked people to consider donating to one of her favorite charities, St. Jude's Children's Hospital. To share memories or express condolences online please visit www.biegafuneralhome.com.
