Roberta "Bobbi" Kasproski

Bobbi was born on November 4, 1948 in Martins Ferry, Ohio to Jacqueline Kasproski Jarosz and grew up in St. Clairsville, Ohio. She is survived by two brothers, Timothy David Jarosz of Gibsonia, PA and James Michael Jarosz (Lori) of Butler, PA, and a sister Laurie Ann Plocki

(Ronald) of Allison Park, PA. Also, two nieces and three nephews, and several cousins (especially being close to Debbie Hinkle of Buckhannon, WV and Anita Levy of Pittsburgh, PA). Friends were especially important to Bobbi. She loved getting together with friends for meals, drinks, playing cards and for her yearly Christmas party. She leaves quite a few friends from every facet of her life. Two special friends were Sue Mitchell of Columbus, Ohio and Nancy Earls of Middletown, CT. And the love of her life, John.

Bobbi graduated from St. Clairsville Ohio High School. She attended Ohio University in Athens Ohio where she majored in elementary education and graduated magna cum laude. She then went on to receive a Master's Degree in Library Science from Southern Connecticut State University in New Haven CT. Bobbi had several careers in her life. She worked in education for 31 years, first as an elementary teacher and then as a library media specialist in Middletown CT, West Palm Beach and Boca Raton, FL and finally in Hartford CT from where she retired. Taking a break from education, she worked at Aetna Life Insurance Company in Middletown CT for 9 years as a computer programmer/system analyst. She also tried her hand in the retail business field at J.C. Penney in Farmington CT as a manager and in the collections department at G. Fox and Company, a department store in Hartford CT. Along with many part-time jobs to supplement her teaching jobs, Bobbi had amassed a varied list of skills.

Throughout her life Bobbi dedicated much of her free time to volunteering. She volunteered at the former Children's Home in Cromwell CT, the Arthritis Foundation, the Amazing Grace Food Pantry in Middletown CT, the Bushnell Performing Arts Center in Hartford CT, AARP in Hartford CT, doing taxes for Seniors during tax season in Cromwell CT, and at her church, St. John's Church in Cromwell CT.

Bobbi loved sports, especially tennis and UCONN men's and women's basketball, Yankees baseball and the Dallas Cowboys football. With her close friend, she attended many tennis tournaments and many basketball games. She also loved playing tennis and golfing. Her other interests included reading, collecting antiques, and traveling, both in the U.S. and in other countries, especially in France where she visited 8 times. Her love of Paris inspired her to write and publish a children's book entitled "Lilly Goes to Paris", a book about a dachshund who travels to Paris and has adventures.

Her Funeral Liturgy will be held on Saturday (June 6th) at 10 a.m. at St. John Church, 5 St. John’s Court, Cromwell. Burial will be in St. Clairsville Ohio. There are no calling hours. Any donations that wish to be made should be to town libraries or to local food pantries.
