Robert A. Rich Jr., 65, of Cromwell, beloved husband of forty years, to Sherry (Pessina) Rich, died suddenly at Hartford Hospital. He was born in Middletown, the son of the late Robert A. Rich Sr. and Ruth (Clark) Rich.

Robert was a CNC Machinist for 47 years. He started out at Zygo Corporation while he was in high school, where he worked for many years, and most recently, he worked at Jarvis Corporation, first as a CNC Machinist, then for the last 4 years, he was proud to be the 2nd Shift Supervisor. He was an 18-year member of the Cromwell Fire Department and a long-time member of the Elks Club. He also loved going to tractor pulls, which started at a young age, going with his father. He also enjoyed tinkering with things. His children and grandchildren knew they could always rely on him to fix whatever was broken!

Besides his wife, Sherry, Robert is survived by four children, Stephanie Rich (Jason) of Cromwell, Shannon Rich (Will) of Cromwell, Kimberly Rich (Patrick) of Middletown, and Dylan Rich of Cromwell. Five grandchildren, Amy, Rosalie, Kevin, Axel and Madison. He is also survived by three sisters, Beverly Mergel (Wayne) of Portland, Cheryl Sloan of Middletown, and Marion Imbruglio (Richard) of Portland, and many nieces and nephews.
