Robert Charles Mogulnicki, 82, of Portland, CT, lost his battle with pancreatic cancer on February 23 rd in Middletown, CT.

Bobby was the longtime owner of the iconic, Café 66, on Main Street in Portland. In addition to his extensive list of friends from all walks of life, Bobby leaves behind his life partner of 42 years, Ellen Steinberg, son, Robert Todd Mogulnicki (granddaughter, Mya), daughter, Michelle Lee Benczkowski (son-in-law, Michael), sister, Kathy Young and several nieces and nephews. Bobby was predeceased by his parents, Charles and Genevieve (Kuzina) Mogulnicki, and sisters, Carol Dickinson and Barbara Mogulnicki.

Bobby was born in Portland, CT, on September 14, 1940. He graduated from Portland High School in 1958 with the motto of, "come a day, skip two" Upon graduation he joined the U.S. Navy and traveled the world for four years aboard the USS Eaton. He loved to tell stories about being at the Bay of Pigs during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He married his ex-wife Elizabeth Hetrick (Inglis) in 1969 and had his two children Michelle Lee and Bobby Todd. In 1974 he purchased Café 66 in Portland where he was called "Longshot" by a legion of friends. He especially loved horse racing, football, hockey, basketball games, and listening to the Rolling Stones. He sold the Café in 2012 and retired. His great joys were walking his Westie, Gracie, tending his garden, and cooking. He spent his final days at home surrounded by love with his cherished friends and family.
