Robert W. Lenz, Jr., 83, of Higganum, husband of Lois (Chapman) Lenz, passed away Monday, January 2, 2023 at Apple Rehab in Middletown.

He was born in Middletown, the son of the late Robert W. Lenz, Sr., and Evelyn (Peetz) Lenz. Bob served with the US Navy. Prior to his retirement, he was a Firefighter for the City of Middletown, retiring in 1991 after 26 years of service. Bob also graduated from culinary school where he mastered his cooking skills. He was a Mason with the Washington Lodge No. 81 F&AM in Cromwell, as well as a member of the Sphinx Shriners in Newington. During his retirement, Bob enjoyed working with stained glass and woodworking.

In addition to his wife Lois, the love of his life, he is survived by several brother- and sister-in-laws; Dorothy Van Hyning of Westbrook, Norman and Pat Chapman of Durham, Ernest Blaney, Sr. of Southington, Ronald and Tekla Chapman of Middletown, Beverly Misenti of Higganum, and Debbie Chapman of Durham, along with many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his stepson, Richard Jukonski, Jr.

Funeral services will be held Monday, January 9, 2023 at 11 a.m. at Biega Funeral Home, 3 Silver St., Middletown. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Middletown. Friends may call on Monday from 10 to 11 a.m. at Biega Funeral Home prior to the service.
