Robert H. Lentz, Sr., 85, of Haddam, beloved husband of L. Diane (Lundell) Lentz, passed away on Friday October 25, 2024, at Middlesex Hospital. He was born in Hartford, son of the late Hugh and Shirley (Sprague) Lentz. Robert was a veteran serving with the US Air Force. While affiliated with the Haddam Congregational Church, he established the Haddam Cooperative Nursery School. Additionally, he was on the RSD 17 Board of Education, building committee for the Haddam-Killingworth High School, and involved in numerous other community activities. Prior to his retirement, he was a teacher at Valley Regional High School for over 30 years.

Along with his wife Diane, he is survived by a son, Scott Lentz of Haddam, brother Ralph Lentz Sr. of Higganum, sister Nancy Lentz of Georgia, three grandchildren, Stacey and Troy Lentz of Portland, and Crystal Lentz of Haddam, and two great grandchildren, Natalya and Asher. He was predeceased by a son, Robert Lentz, Jr. and granddaughter Elizabeth Dawicki.

Services will be held on Friday, November 1, 2024, at Biega Funeral Home, 3 Silver Street, Middletown. Friends and family may gather prior to the service from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. and the burial with military honors at the Swedish Cemetery in Portland will follow.
