Robert Edward Krupa passed away December 11, 2024, at Middlesex hospital.  Bob was born September 2, 1938, in Portland, Connecticut, to Edward and Norma Malblanc Krupa.  He was an only child and was raised in East Hampton until moving to Middletown, CT. He proudly called this his hometown until he passed away at the Middlesex Hospital Hospice Unit under the care of skilled and remarkable nursing staff.

Robert graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School and then entered the U.S. Army in 1961, proudly serving his country and solidifying his lifelong patriotism and love of country.  Bob loved collecting and displaying flags of both the Army and the U.S. and often donated flags to friends and family to display.

Bob was proudly employed at Pratt and Whitney for many years until retiring in his early 50's.

Bob was active in the community and was often seen on many league softball fields, engaging in duck-pin bowling with friends, and visiting locations throughout his beloved Middletown.  He loved and frequented many local restaurants and was loyal to the establishments for decades.  One of his favorite restaurants was Rise and Shine where he was treated like a character out of Cheers every time he entered.

Bob spent much of his free time tinkering with and collecting tools at his home, and he always had the right tool for every job when asked.  He also donated to many charities for dozens of years, including Veterans, Animal rescue, Make-a-Wish, Leukemia research, and many more.

He also loved spending time with family, friends, and neighbors, and could often be heard talking about sports, playing with the animals, or just spreading his infectious laugh.  Bob loved spending time with the kids during birthdays and holidays and was always doting on them whenever possible.  He also loved his tv's and when visited, he would often be seen with a western classic on one tv, and his favorite Flintstones on another.  He also had hundreds of word searches, and crossword books and puzzles which helped keep his mind sharp up until his passing.

Bob was a gentle soul with a kind and loving heart and when he smiled, it was on his face and in those brilliant blue eyes and warmed those who got the gift of receiving such.

A graveside service will be held at Calvary Cemetery on Bow Lane on December 28, 2024, at 11:00am.  He will be put to rest with friends and family and a military tribute.  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to the American Cancer Society, or the Humane Society.
