Robert Hollman, 91, of Middletown, formerly of Higganum, husband of Kathleen (Godfrey) Hollman, died Thursday December 29, 2022 at Middlesex Hospital.
He was born in Hartford, the son of the late Theodore and Anna (Matthews) Hollman. Prior to his retirement, Robert was an Industrial Engineer with Pratt and Whitney Aircraft for 34 years.
Robert was a parishioner of St. Francis of Asissi Church in Middletown and had a deep faith in the Catholic Church. He was a Eucharistic Minister for many years at St. Peter's in Higganum and a member of the Knights of Columbus.
He loved people, life and exploring. His passion was his family, who caring for, was the driving force of his life. He also loved bicycling have ridden across the country from Seattle to Connecticut, along the east coast from Florida to Nova Scotia with his wife Kathleen and around the perimeter Ireland with his son Jimmy. He also loved camping, hiking, swimming family picnics and traveling with his beloved wife Kathleen.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons, Thomas Hollman of Cromwell, Michael Hollman of Hartford, Robert and Karen (Hejduk) Hollman Jr. of Middletown, James Hollman of Middletown and daughter, Maureen (Hollman) and Joe O'Boyle of Wethersfield; seven grandchildren- Joe, Thomas (TJ), Brendan, Mathew, Jennifer, Brian, and Danny; eleven great grandchildren Teagan, Dermot, Macen, Declan, Brayden, Aisling, Brigid, Mary-Elizabeth, Caleb, Benedict, and Jacob. He was predeceased by his brother, John (Jack) Hollman and sister, Eleanor Mayr.
His Funeral Liturgy will be held Wednesday (Jan. 4 th ) at 11 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Church, Middletown. Burial will be in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. Friends may call at Biega Funeral Home, 3 Silver St., Middletown on Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the charity of the donor's choice.
