Robb A.
Prchal
May 31, 1972 — Sep 8, 2024
Haddam
Robb Anton Prchal, 52, of Haddam, beloved husband of Amy Richmond, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 8, 2024, at Connecticut Hospice in Branford, after a courageous battle with metastatic melanoma.
Born in Middletown in 1972, Robb was the cherished son of Mary Anne (Hoffman) Prchal of Killingworth and the late Robert Prchal. Raised on Walkley Hill Road in Haddam, Robb attended Haddam Elementary School and Haddam-Killingworth High School before going on to study Construction Management at Central Connecticut State University.
Robb was employed as the Administrator of Security and Property Management at Russell Library in Middletown, where he was a respected and dedicated member of the staff. In his personal life, he was an active coach of his son Caleb's Little League baseball team. He was also an accomplished drummer with a passion for both rock and jazz music.
Robb's greatest joy was being a devoted father to his 13-year-old son, Caleb, and he relished every opportunity to mentor and guide him, especially through their shared love of sports and the outdoors.
He was preceded in death by his father Robert Prchal, and his maternal grandparents Everett and Mary Hoffman, and paternal grandparents Joseph and Lillian Prchal. Robb leaves behind his wife Amy Richmond and his son Caleb of Haddam, his mother Mary Anne Prchal of Killingworth, his sister Anne Marie Prchal Middletown, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Friends and family are invited to gather and pay their respects on Sunday, September 22nd, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Biega Funeral Home, 3 Silver Street, Middletown. A funeral service will follow at 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Robb's memory may be sent to the Haddam Killingworth Little League, P.O. Box 846 Higganum, CT 06441.
