Richard LaBella, beloved husband of 24 years to Patricia (Chimirri) LaBella, and a wonderful father, uncle, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on Tuesday November 8 ^th , 2022, at Bristol Hospital, at the age of 67.

Along with his wife Patricia, Richard is survived by four children, Alexander (22), Bianca (21), Ava (20), and Gabriel LaBella (16) of Middletown, CT; two brothers and sisters-in-laws, Louis and Nancy LaBella of Old Saybrook, CT, and Thomas and Kathy LaBella of Middletown, CT; and many nieces and nephews.

Rich was born in Middletown, CT, son of the late, Louis and Connie (D'Aquila) LaBella. He was an avid Yankees, Giants, and Juventus fan, and could always be found watching any sport (even golf!) in his free time. Rich had a love for the arts, especially painting and music, and adored spending time at the beach, specifically at Cornfield Point in Old Saybrook, with his family.

Richard graduated from the University of Rhode Island, with a degree in Art and was then employed as an assistant surveyor with the City of Middletown. He was a communicant of Saint Mary of Czestochowa Church.  He spent many years as a soccer and softball coach for the leagues in Middletown when his children were younger.

The greatest legacy Rich leaves behind is his gift to light up every room with his smile, always joking around and making everyone around him laugh.  He will be remembered for his sense of humor, and kind and gentle demeanor.

Visitation for Richard LaBella will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, November 13 ^th , at Biega Funeral Home, 3 Silver Street, Middletown.
