Richard "Dick"
A. Widlansky
Dec 13, 1939 — Jun 30, 2023
Middletown
Richard (Dick) Arthur Widlansky, 83, passed away peacefully on June 30, 2023. He was born in Cambridge, Mass. on December 13, 1939 and lived in Middletown most of his life. He shared many fun adventures with Dolores (Czapiga), his wife of 66 years, by his side. Together with family and friends they traveled to places including Europe, Aruba, Canada, Hawaii, Alaska, California and their favorite destination Disney World. In their retirement years they enjoyed wintering in Venice, FL.
Richard had a good, long, full life. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, son and brother. He was clever, smart, easygoing, and well-liked. Along with his spouse, he is survived by his five children; Linda Widlansky, Joseph Widlansky and his wife Theresa, Karen Carey, Patricia Zambrello and her husband Phil, Richard G. Widlansky and his girlfriend Betsy. He leaves behind two special grandsons; Patrick Carey and his wife Ashley and Sean Carey and his girlfriend Kate. Other close relatives include William McQuade, brother-in-law, Patricia McQuade, niece and Janice Czapiga, sister-in-law. He was pre-deceased by his parents Abraham and Margaret Widlansky, his sister, Elaine McQuade, his nephew, Robert McQuade and his brother-in-law Richard Czapiga.
Dick was employed as a machinist for decades, retiring from Wesleyan University. He was a member of BPOE #771, Elks Lodge for 50 years. He enjoyed watching Westerns, NASCAR races and Red Sox games. An unassuming man, Richard liked a Sunday drive with a stop for ice cream or a week vacation down by the shore with a round of miniature golf with his children. Truly a family man and forever in our hearts.
