Obituary

Rene Lauren Wallace, 28, beloved daughter of Nancy and Edward Wallace, has passed away.

Rene was baptized, had her first holy communion and was confirmed at St. Pius Church in Middletown. Rene had many happy memories of her time at Spencer School where she was a Girl Scout, played soccer and softball, bass guitar in the orchestra and was selected for the PROBE program for gifted children.

Rene also went to Mercy and Middletown High Schools where she received recognition for her creative writing and artistic skills. Childhood summers were spent at summer camp and with family in New Hampshire and the Jersey Shore where she loved to skate board and ride the waves. Rene was a devotee of anime, True Crime shows and saw every episode of The Office.

Rene loved all kinds of music, especially if it was live. She loved having friends too and was accepting of everyone, connecting with new people easily. She adored her dog Rusty most of all and discovering new parks to hike, especially if it had a swimming hole for Rusty. Rene had a great concern for all animals and wanted to care for all she met.

Rene lived in a spontaneous and fearless manner, living in the moment was the only way she knew. While Rene was fun-loving and light-hearted, she battled constant inner turmoil. She fought life's struggles on her own terms but, sadly, an accidental overdose took her life.

Wishing you the peace that eluded you here. We will love you and will miss you until we meet again.
