Obituary

Regina Therese Evans (née Sonski) of Kennesaw, Georgia, passed into eternal life May 11, 2026. Born in Hartford, Connecticut, January 9, 1999, "Gina" lived her early years in Beltsville, Maryland, and attended Saint Joseph School there. She moved to Higganum, Connecticut, in 2006 and continued her education in the RSD 17 school system, graduating from Haddam-Killingworth High School in 2017.

Gina moved to Georgia after high school and married Caleb Evans in 2021, settling in Kennesaw. She just completed her bachelor's studies in psychology and criminology at Kennesaw State University. Gina and Caleb planned to return to Connecticut where she intended to pursue a law enforcement career. She was a dog lover and a passionate fan of the New England Patriots.

Besides her husband, Caleb, Gina is survived by her parents, Teressa and Peter Sonski of Higganum; siblings Timothy, Rachel (Julian) Saviano, Elise, John (Marlee), David, Michael, Kolbe, and Kateri; nephews and nieces Caleb, Logan, Hadley, Sadie, Leo, Jonah, Saige, Simon, and Wilder; along with loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Friends are invited to call Friday, May 22, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Saint Peter Church, 30 Saint Peter's Lane in Higganum. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the same church at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, May 23.

Memorial donations may be made to The Gina Fund for missing and exploited children.
