Raymond F. Kauczka, 91, formerly of Middletown, husband of the late Dorothy "Dot" (Bekampis) Kauczka, died Friday September 13, 2024, in West Hartford at Brookdale Assisted Living.

He was born in Wilkes-Barre, PA, the son of the late Michael and Catherine (Muchinsky) Kauczka.  A veteran of the Korean War, Ray served with the US Army. Prior to his retirement, Ray was a postal worker with the Middletown Post Office for over 30 years. He was a member of the Polish Falcons Nest 519 and a parishioner of St. Mary Church, Middletown.

Ray is survived by his son, John Kauczka and his wife Beth of West Hartford; daughter, Janet Neville and her husband Jeff of Myrtle Beach, SC; brother, William Kauczka and his wife Lois of Endicott, NY; sister, Rosemary Rosen of Dallas, PA; grandsons, Michael Neville and Brian Neville and his partner, Kim; granddaughters, Christine Capozziello and her husband Matt, Rachel Rodrigues and her husband Alex and Mary Kauczka. Ray has been blessed with five great grandchildren, as well as sisters-in-laws, Sonya Kay and Lucille Bekampis and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, Leo, Sylvester, Edward Kauczka, and Thomas Kay; sisters, Helen Disbro, and Sister Mary Alyson Kauczka.

Funeral services will be held Friday Sept. 20th  at 11 a.m. at Biega Funeral Home,  Silver St., Middletown. Burial, with military honors, will be in the State Veterans' Cemetery, Middletown.  Friends may call at Biega Funeral Home on Friday from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service.
