Pauline K.
Bladek
Dec 26, 1933 — Dec 2, 2024
Middlefield
Pauline K. Bladek, 90, previously of Middlefield, Connecticut, passed away peacefully on December 2, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Born on December 26, 1933, in Middletown to Tessie and Joseph Kalisz, Pauline lived a life of enduring devotion to her faith, family and community. On April 12, 1958, Pauline married Robert S. Bladek Sr., and together they raised two children, Robert Jr. and Elizabeth. She cherished her role as a devoted wife, mother, and later, grandmother to three granddaughters, Alexandra (Hannes) Nickl, Lauren and Emily Smith.
For 40 years, Pauline worked at MiddConn Municipal Credit Union, where she not only excelled professionally but also built lasting friendships. She delighted in lighthearted banter with local law enforcement, firemen, and city employees who frequented the credit union, always brightening their day with her quick wit and warm smile. Pauline was deeply committed to her community and her faith. She found joy in volunteering at voting polls during elections and took pride in being an active member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, where she also participated in the Ladies' Guild. She also participated in the Catholic War Veteran's Auxiliary, the Red Hatters club and enjoyed theater performances both locally and in NYC. One of her greatest joys was as a devoted grandmother. She cherished her time traveling to MI and spending time with her family in CT.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert S. Bladek Sr., and her brother, Joseph Kalisz. Pauline is survived by her children, Robert Jr. (Suzanne) Bladek and Elizabeth (Gregory) Smith; her cherished granddaughters, Alexandra (Hannes) Nickl, Lauren, and Emily Smith; her sisters-in-law, Allene Kalisz and Irene (Bladek) Konicki as well as many adored nieces and nephews.
Pauline's family would like to express their deepest appreciation for the tireless, dedicated and compassionate care she received at Ocean Meadow Senior Living in Clinton, CT.
Visitation will be held on Monday (Dec. 9th) from 5 to 7 p.m. at Biega Funeral Home, 3 Silver St., Middletown. A funeral mass will take place on Tuesday (Dec. 10th) at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Middletown followed by a family burial at Calvary Cemetery. Pauline's legacy endures through the countless lives she touched with her kindness, humor, and quiet strength. She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered.
