Patricia Jane (Kowaleski) Morrissey, 77, of Portland, beloved wife of Peter Morrissey, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 15, 2024, at her home with family at her side.

Pat was born in Middletown, daughter of the late John J. Kowaleski, Jr. and Mary (Borichewsky) Kowaleski.  After graduating from Middletown High School, she attended Central CT State College briefly before enrolling in the x-ray technology school at St. Francis Hospital.  After completing her training as an x-ray tech, she worked at CT Valley Hospital before marrying Peter in 1971 and embarking on an adventure in Alaska for the following two years.  She later returned to Central CT State University and after graduating with a bachelor's degree in accounting she worked as an accountant at the CT Dept. of Transportation until her retirement in 2009.  In retirement, Pat had more time to devote to activities at St. Patrick Church in East Hampton and the surrounding Catholic community, including the St. Patrick's Guild and ACTS-CT women's retreats.  In her most recent years Pat enjoyed volunteering with The Village for Families & Children's Second Chance Shop in Glastonbury where she could apply her love of vintage glassware, jewelry and discovering all sorts of hidden treasures.  And the greatest treasures she ever found were her three granddaughters.

Besides her husband, Peter, Patricia is survived by her son, Ryan Morrissey and his wife Letty of Middletown; her daughter, Megan Malouin and her husband Aaron of Baxter, TN; her sister, Mary Ann Pianka, of Higganum; her brother Michael Kowaleski and his wife Sharon of Marshfield, MA; and three grandchildren, Lucienne and Joelle Malouin, and Anna Morrissey.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, March 22nd at 10:30 AM at Saint Mary Catholic Church, 45 Freestone Avenue, Portland, CT 06480.  Burial will follow at the State Veterans' Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be sent to The Village for Families & Children, 175 Park Rd., West Hartford, CT 06119.  To share memories or express condolences online please visit www.biegafuneralhome.com.
