Nina (Bidorini) Gunn, 76, of Rocky Hill, wife of the late Charles "Bud" E. Gunn, died after a brief struggle with cancer Monday May 22, 2023 at Maple View Manor, Rocky Hill.

She was born in Stafford Springs, daughter of the late Peter and Florence (Kareski) Bidorini. Nina grew up in Stafford and graduated from Stafford High School where she was the captain of the cheerleading squad, the prom queen and a member of the National Honor Society. Her early adult life focused on being a single parent and bringing up her two sons, Michael and Jeffrey who were the apple of her eye and the focus of her life.

She was always an extremely hard worker and worked primarily in bar and restaurant industry in the greater Middletown area. Her friendly personality, warm smile and outgoing nature led her to develop a loyal customer base at many of the places she worked including the Gelston House, MacAndrews, and for more than 20 years, serving as a bartender and bar manager at the Arch Restaurant in Rocky Hill. She met Charley at the Arch where he was a patron and a part time doorman in addition to his distinguished career as a Connecticut State policeman. They became fast friends and fell in love. They married and had a warm, loving relationship and marriage for over 20 years until Charley's passing in 2012.

In her later years, Nina enjoyed taking care of her tomato plants and flowers, going to the ferry landing in Rocky Hill with her dog Emmy, occasional trips to Mohegan Sun and spending time with family and friends. She was fond of Monet prints which adorned her home and was a big fan of western movies and television series. She also had a close relationship with her brother Alfred, who she enjoyed spending time with and who visited her frequently.

She is survived by her sons, Michael Muzio and his wife Lisa of Rocky Hill and Jeffrey Muzio of Cromwell; grandchildren Nicole, Jeffrey, Savannah, and Maleena, great granddaughter Elsie, brother Alfred Bidorini and wife Fran Beamonte of West Hartford. She was predeceased by a sister, Frances A. Ganguli.

Graveside services for family and close friends will be held June 9th at 1 pm at the State Veterans Cemetery on Bow Lane in Middletown, followed by a Celebration of Life at the Middletown Elks Lodge on Maynard Street in Middletown from 2 to 6pm.
