Nancy (Tofil) Walker, 77, of Newington passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 29, 2024, at her home surrounded by her family.  Nancy was born in Hartford, the daughter of the late, Leon S. Tofil and Lillian M. (Sherba) Tofil.

Prior to her retirement she was the bookkeeper, for over 35 years at Wethersfield Country Club.   Nancy was an avid Red Sox & UCONN fan, who loved watching games with her grandchildren.  She enjoyed playing cards every Thursday and looked forward to trips to the casino, movies & shopping.

Nancy always had a smile on her face and truly enjoyed life. She always brightened the room and was the first to help out.

Nancy is survived by her three children, her son Charles Babcock of East Hampton, two daughters, Frances Kucharski and her husband James Kucharski of East Haddam, Lynn Kucharski and her husband Tom Kucharski of East Haddam.  She adored and loved spending time with her six grandchildren, Grace Kucharski, Lucy Kucharski, Jacob Kucharski, Faith Kucharski, Brodie Babcock, and Lila Babcock. She was very excited to be a part of the engagement of her granddaughter Grace and soon to be grandson in-law Justin Fiala.

Nancy is also survived by her two brothers Tom Tofil sister-in-law Sue Tofil of West Hartford, Bob Tofil sister-in- law Clare Tofil of Florida. Nancy also leaves behind several nieces, nephews and dear friends.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 7, 2024, at 12 pm. at Biega Funeral Home 3 Silver Street, Middletown.  Friends may gather prior to the service from 10 to 12 pm.  Memorial contributions may be sent to the American Red Cross PO Box 37839 Boone, IA 50037-0839.
