Obituary

Nancy Alice Bauer of Middletown, CT passed away suddenly on August 27, 2024 after suffering multiple infirmities the past several years.  She was born in Syracuse, NY on February 14, 1951 to Philip and Alice (Snyder) Bauer.  She was predeceased by her parents and brother Joseph.  She is survived by her sisters Ann (William) Bauer-Lawson, Diane (Michael) Pisani, and her brothers Robert and David.  She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, and her favorite cousin Anna.

Practically a life-long resident of Middletown, Nancy was civically active, serving on the Boards of the Long Hill Estate Authority (LHEA) and the Middlesex County Historical Society (MCHS).  She also served as Vice Chair of both the Farm Hill School Building Committee and the Russell Library Building Committee in the 1980's.  She was also politically active as a member of Middletown's DTC.

Nancy's greatest accomplishment was her 35 years in the Middletown Public School System, almost all served as a 1st Grade Teacher at the Farm Hill School.  Over her career, "Miss Bauer" taught over 700 students.  She cherished the memory of each of her former students and kept in touch with many of them.

A graveside service will be held on 9/12/24 at 1:30 PM at Calvary Cemetery, 305 Bow Lane, Middletown. Donations may be made in Nancy's memory to the MCHS, 151 Main Street, Middletown, CT 06457. To share memories or express condolences online please visit www.biegafuneralhome.com.
