Nancy Ann (Cross) Sawyer of Middletown CT, died at the age of 92, born on April 28, 1934. She was the beloved only child of Edward F. And Margaret C. (Hannon) Cross. Nancy was married to her husband who predeceased her, George D. Sawyer for 59 years. Nancy graduated from Framingham State College in 1980 with a Bachelor in Sociology; she worked as a preschool teacher and then worked many years at New England Telephone as a service representative before retiring. Nancy was very religious, enjoying daily mass, was devoted to the rosary and had a long prayer list of friends she prayed for every day.

Nancy was surrounded by her close family who loved her very much: her daughter Elizabeth Kauczka and her husband John; her granddaughters Christine Capozziello and her husband Matt; Rachel Rodrigues and her husband Alex and Mary Kauczka and her fiancé, Anthony DiRenzo. She adored her great granddaughter, Sofia Rodrigues who was the light of her life as was her religious faith. She also had a son Edward and his family.

Her Funeral Liturgy will be held Wednesday June 3rd at 10:30 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Church. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
