It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Michele Novak, 65, of East Haddam, Connecticut, on May 11, 2024. Michele was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, whose vibrant spirit and loving nature enriched the lives of all who knew her.

Born on May 29, 1958, in Meriden, Connecticut. She graduated from Lyman Hall High School and worked for many years as a Payroll Clerk at Stop & Shop. In 2019, she retired to become a full time devoted caretaker to her two grandchildren.

In 1989, Michele married Thomas Novak III, with whom she shared over thirty years of love and friendship. Together, they raised a daughter, Megan (Novak) Drew. Michele found her greatest happiness in her role as "Ma" to her cherished granddaughters, Harper and Hadley. She treasured every moment spent with them, creating memories filled with love and laughter.

Michele was known for her deep love of animals, always opening her heart and home to pets in need. Her passion for life extended to her love of riding her Harley Davidson, where she and Tom spent most weekends on the quest for New England's best lobster roll. Michele's adventurous spirit and sense of humor were evident in all that she did.

She is survived by her loving husband, Tom; her daughter, Megan and son in-law Ryan Drew; her adored granddaughters, Harper and Hadley; her brother, Scott Mizenko and his wife Sandi; her mother in-law Susan Novak and her beloved nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Michele was preceded in death by her parents, Audrey and Michael Mizenko.

A memorial service to celebrate Michele's life will be held at St. Bridget of Kildare Church in Moodus on Friday, May 24, 2024, at 11:00 AM. Visitation will be held one hour before the service (at St. Bridget of Kildare Church). Burial will be at the convenience of her family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Michele's memory to the CT Humane Society or the American Cancer Society.

Michele will be remembered for her boundless compassion, her adventurous spirit, and her unwavering dedication to her family and friends. Her legacy of love and kindness will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
