Michael P. Wyskiel, 69 of Middlefield, husband of Colleen (Baldwin) Wyskiel, died Wednesday October 22, 2025 at home surrounded by family after an extended battle with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS).

He was born in Middletown, the son of the late Stanley and Elizabeth (Hubbard) Wyskiel. Mike was a heavy equipment mechanic for the City of Middletown for 31 years and after retirement he worked for DMIAAB (Middlefield Dump) until his ALS diagnosis. Mike was an active member of the Middletown Elks, the Thaddeus Kosciuszko Society, where he held many positions and a long-time parishioner of St. Colman Church. Mike was known for his generosity and willingness to help everyone and anyone and he could always be found donating blood any chance he got. When Mike wasn't working, helping others or donating blood he was busy tending to the family farm on Long Hill Road in Middletown. He could be found haying, fixing a fence, tending to the cows or working in the garage on his '69 Camero (his second love of his life).

Mike is survived by his loving wife of 38 years Colleen Wyskiel, his son Stephen and his wife Julissa Wyskiel of Middletown, his daughter Melissa and husband Eric Troiano of Ithaca, New York and two grandchildren Alianna and Huxley Troiano of Ithaca, New York; his brother James and his wife Evelyn; nephew Alexander Wyskiel of Middlefield, two sisters-in-law Judy Isaacson of Middlefield and Karen Hovanes of Charlotte Court House, Virginia; as well as an aunt, many cousins, nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly. He was predeceased by his parents Stanley and Elizabeth (Hubbard) Wyskiel, and his brother Stephen Wyskiel.

Mike's family would like to thank the amazing team at the Hospital for Special Care, Visiting Angels and the Hartford Healthcare Hospice team for all the care, support and kindness.

His Funeral Liturgy will be held Wednesday October 29th at 10:30 a.m. at St. Colman Church, Middlefield. Burial will be in the Middlefield Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call on Tuesday October 28th from 5 to 7 p.m. at Biega Funeral Home, 3 Silver St. Middletown.
