It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of Michael DePeau at the young age of 38 years after he lost a hard-fought battle with drug dependence. Born on August 13, 1984 in Rockville, CT, Michael entered the world as a bright light, with a strong desire to give to and nurture those all around him, including his family, friends and beloved dogs. He lived his life with passion and love. Michael graduated from Stafford High School in 2002; he excelled as a tri-season athlete in indoor and outdoor track and cross-country for each of his four years, becoming a school record holder in multiple events. He was well-connected to his classmates in the arts, playing in the band and performing in musicals and, as a senior, was the Class President. He graduated from Central Connecticut State University in 2007 with a Bachelor's Degree in Management, concentrating in Entrepreneurship. He became a self-employed owner and operator of a stone wall and masonry business. He readily used his creativity, manual skills and love of nature to create beautiful works of art that remain today.
He will be forever missed by his parents, Jacqueline and Edward, his siblings, Robert, Edward and wife Ashley, Kristina and husband Dan, by his friend Jim, and by his aunts, uncles, cousins, nephew, nieces and countless other people whose lives were made better by him.
Michael's family is grateful to all those who provided support to Michael over his lifetime.
