Obituary

Michael John D'Amico left this earth peacefully at his Middletown home and began his eternal adventure on Tuesday March 21, 2023.

Born in Middletown, Connecticut on June 3, 1980, Michael was the beloved first-born son of Salvatore and Janice (Steadham) D'Amico of Rancho Palos Verdes, CA, formerly of Middletown and Portland CT. The eldest of three sons, Michael is survived by his loving brothers, Stephen J. D'Amico of Manhattan Beach CA and Brendan J. D'Amico of Rancho Palos CA. Michael is also survived by a large extended family including his Auntie Virginia Steadham O'Brien, Uncle Anthony D'Amico (Sharon), Uncle Ralph Steadham Jr. (Karen), Uncle Arnold Steadham and Uncle Edward Steadham (Suzanne) and his cousins Denis, Evan and Scott(Michelle) O'Brien, Brian(Diandra) and Timothy (Kristina) D'Amico and Katharine(Steve)Steadham Woltornist, Elizabeth(Ben)Steadham Kingsley and Caroline Steadham and the next generation of cousins.

He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Anthony and Josephine (Lovullo) D'Amico, maternal grandparents, Ralph and Grace (Talevi) Steadham and Uncle Denis J. O'Brien. Michael is survived by many cousins from the D'Amico, Steadham, Talevi and Lovullo families along with countless friends.

Michael was a 1998 graduate of Portland High School and attended Eastern Connecticut State University. Michael began his professional career with the State of CT Department of Higher Education and continued his career as an information technology specialist in the CT State Judicial Branch until his early retirement several years ago.

Michael was a member of the Newington Children's Hospital Cruisers, earning many state and national awards and records in track and field. Michael along with his friend, Tom Paranzino, raised funds for the Wounded Warriors and contributed to many humanitarian causes.

A lifelong learner, Michael continually sought to expand his mind and thinking in so many subjects. His passions were varied and many and included music, especially DMB, and anything related to Elon Musk.

Michael was an angel on this earth and is soaring high forever.

His Funeral Liturgy will be held Monday (Mar. 27th) at 10 a.m. at St. Sebastian Church, Washington St., Middletown. Burial will be in St. Sebastian Cemetery, Middlefield.
