Matthew Czaja, 34, of East Berlin, died unexpectedly at his home on Thursday, March 14, 2024.

He was born in Middletown, the son of Mark and Lisa (Kielb) Czaja of Middletown. Matt grew up in Middletown and was a 2007 graduate from Vinal Technical School.  He was currently working at CT Valley Hospital in the HVAC Department. In his younger years, Matt enjoyed playing little league, but soccer was his passion.  He enjoyed being outdoors and loving life to the fullest with his family, countless friends, and his dog, Dani-Lyn.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his longtime girlfriend, Jackie Steele; his maternal grandmother, Elizabeth Kielb of Middletown; paternal grandmother and grandfather Sheeren and Paul Fleury of Waterbury CT and paternal grandmother, Brenda Czaja of Bloomville, NY along with many uncles, aunts, and cousins. He was predeceased by his maternal grandfather, Frank Kielb and paternal grandfather, Leon Czaja.
