Mary M.
Melesko
Mar 17, 1931 — May 26, 2024
Rocky Hill
Mary M. (Cote) Melesko, 93, of Rocky Hill, formerly of Portland and Middletown, wife of the late Stephen Melesko, died Sunday May 26, 2024 at her home.
She was born in Middletown, the daughter of the late Theodore J. and Julia (Dreaher) Cote. Mary was a member of St John's Church and a Eucharistic Minister before she moved to Rocky Hill. Her faith sustained her through many difficult life challenges. She was a patient and loving caregiver to her son Brian and later her husband Stephen. Mary loved to garden, sew, read and visit with family and friends. Mary had a happy and positive attitude toward life. People always commented on her cheerfulness and beautiful smile.
She is survived by her daughter, Susan Jay of East Hampton; son, Robert Melesko and his wife Rosa of Warwick, RI; granddaughter, Christine Melesko; and three great grandchildren, Anya, Katarina and Nicholas. Also her very special cousin Theresa Fields who was like a sister to her. She loved us all very much. She was predeceased by her daughter, Karen Melesko; son, Brian Melesko; and son-in-law, Cornelius "Neil" Jay.
The family of Mary Melesko would like to thank our cousin Kathy Lundell and her staff at Caregiving by Kathy especially Ingrid and other staff members at The Lodge of Rocky Hill.
She was treated with kindness, dignity and respect at all times.
Her Funeral Liturgy will be held on Friday May 31st at 10:30 a.m. at St. John Church, Middletown. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery.
