Mary Catherine (Tomassi) DeMonte, 96, of Middletown, wife of the late Felix DeMonte, died peacefully with family at her side at Water Edge Center for Health.

Mary was born in Middletown, daughter of the late, Vincent James Tomassi and Concettina (Licitra) Tomassi. Prior to her retirement, Mary was employed at Wesleyan University in the Food Services. She was a Communicant of Saint Sebastian Church and a member of the Saint Theresa Guild.

She is survived by two daughters, Deborah Miller and her husband Kris of East Hampton, Gail Murphy and her husband Paul of Middletown, two sons, Philip Demonte, Sr. and his wife Connie of Middletown, James DeMonte of Middletown, one brother, Charles Tomassi of Berlin, five grandchildren, Melissa, Philip, Jr., Kristopher, Miranda, Makayla, and six great grandchildren, Jakob, Adalyn, Phoebe, Aaron, Porter, and Penelope. She was predeceased by a grandchild, Lt. Dustin DeMonte of the Bristol Police Department, three sisters, Nancy Pessina, Virginia Daniels, Sarah Erico and three brothers, Peter Tomassi, Corrado Tomassi, and Joseph Scata.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 9 ^th , at Biega Funeral Home 3 Silver Street Middletown at 11 a.m. Friends may call on Monday, May 8 ^th from 5 to 7 p.m. at Biega Funeral Home.
