Obituary

Marjorie A Dahlmeyer, 88, passed away peacefully at home on August 9, 2026. She is survived by her beloved husband, Fred Dahlmeyer after 69 years of marriage.

She graduated from South Broward High School in Florida, then worked at the Telephone Company before becoming a full-time housewife and mother of five children.

They moved to CT 60 years ago. Marjorie loved and supported her husband in their many business endeavors including flipping houses before it was a “thing”. They later moved to Durham while restoring their current property together.

At 40 years old, she built and ran the Westview Kennel in Durham. She bred and showed champion dogs for decades. She was longtime member of the Kenilworth Kennel Club.

Marjorie belonged to the Notre Dame Church and sang in the Notre Dame Choir. She deeply valued the Durham community, including the Grange, and the Women in the 60 Plus Club.

She was a natural painter, sculptor, guitarist and singer. She had a green thumb and was an excellent cook. She used these talents for community charity and fundraising events over the years.

Marjorie leaves behind her five loving children: Frederick Dahlmeyer, Debra (Frank) DeFelice, Jeanne (Stephen) Koerber, Sharon Dahlmeyer-Giovannitti (Joseph) all of Durham, CT and Diane (William) White of FL. She is also survived by six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews which she loved very much.
