It is with heavy hearts that the family of Marie D. Prince shares the news of her passing after a short illness on Sunday, June 11, 2023.  Marie was a lifelong Middletown resident who grew up in the North End. Marie was employed at EIS Manufacturing, The Lutheran Home, and Connecticut Valley Hospital. Upon her retirement from full time work in the early 90's, and while living with her son and daughter-in-law, she supported her family with childcare for her four grandchildren. Marie was known in her family as "Wowie". She was an amazing Italian cook and she will be remembered for the elaborate lunches she made for her grandchildren each day. During the holiday season, her Italian cookies were a very special treat for all.

Marie was predeceased by her husband, Herbert Prince, and son, Joseph Prince. She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law Nicholas and Agnes DiStefano, daughter-in-law, Cora Prince, her grandchildren and their spouses Carla and Joshua Strecker, Joseph and Melissa Prince, Krista and Charles Salvatore, and Michael and Jessie Prince and her four great grandchildren James Prince, Frances Strecker, Juliana Prince, and Daniel Prince.

All are welcome to a mass celebrating Marie's life that will be held at St. John Church, at 19 St. John Square in Middletown, CT 06457, on Friday, June 23, 2023 at 10:30 am. A private burial will follow at the request of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to Middlesex Hospital Hospice, at 28 Crescent St. Middletown, CT 06457.
