Obituary

Marie Mai (Faucher) Perritt ,84, of Middletown, wife of Richard "Rick" H. Perritt and the late David A. Burr, passed away peacefully on November 23, 2023 at Middlesex Hospital surrounded by her loving family.

Marie was born in St. Quentin, New Brunswick, Canada. She was the daughter of the late Edward and Isabelle (Auclair) Faucher. Marie immigrated to Middletown at age 16 years. She worked at the Goodyear Tire Company. Prior to her retirement, Marie was employed at the Portland Supermarket and later years, Aetna Insurance Company.

In addition to her beloved husband Rick, she is survived by her two daughters, Sheila C. Boutillier of Cromwell and Eileen P. Burr of East Hampton; son, Allan D. Burr and Susan (Copeland) Burr of Limestone, ME; stepdaughter Kathi (Perritt) Linares of Middletown and stepson John Perritt. Marie was one of 17 siblings. From Canada: Roger and Lorraine Faucher, Venise (Faucher) Saucier, Francois Faucher, Colombe Faucher and Brien Arbeau, Alain and Anne Faucher, Gemma Faucher, Linda Faucher, Morel and Anna Faucher. From the United States: Kathy (Faucher) and Rene Goulet, Mona (Faucher) Osso, Michel and Diane Faucher, Bernice and Marie Faucher. Marie also leaves 10 grandchildren, 2 great granddaughters, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Marie was predeceased by sisters Yvette Faucher and Muriel (Faucher) Kuczenski; brothers Denis Faucher and Paul Faucher.

For Marie, her beloved husband Rick, family, and friends were her infinite joy in life. Holidays and family traditions were celebrated with enthusiasm, love, and so much warmth because of her. She was the Matriarch of our family and unofficial family photographer. She captured these special moments and daily celebrations with family in her photos, for which we will be forever grateful.

Marie was extremely generous, thoughtful, elegant, graceful, kind and always saw the goodness in everyone. She loved flowers, playing her guitar in earlier years, traveling to their Camp in Canada, Celine Dion, and her dogs: Nanook, Chinook, and Sasha.

Her greatest joy in recent years besides her husband and family, were her two great granddaughters, Penelope and Julianna, who made her heart complete.
