Maria (Misenti) Thody, 84, of Haddam, formerly of Durham, wife of the late Donald E. Thody, passed away on Monday January 29, 2024 at Middlesex Hospital. She was born in Middletown, daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Verba) Misenti.

Maria is survived by her sons, Jason Thody of Hartford and Donald Thody of Middletown, five grandchildren, two four-legged grandchildren, brother, William Misenti of Middletown; and sister, Arline Misenti of Clinton. She was predeceased by her husband, Donald, son, Richard Thody and sister, Elizabeth Peracchio.  She also leaves behind the many children she loved and helped raise as a trusted babysitter.  She was proud of all of them, but especially her beloved great-nephew Jeffrey Peracchio.

The Funeral Liturgy will be held on Friday (Feb. 9th) at 11 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 10 Elm St. Middletown. Burial will follow at Mica Hill Cemetery, Durham, where she spent most of her life walking the dogs with her mother while the family lived on Mica Hill. Friends may call at Biega Funeral Home, 3 Silver St., Middletown on Thursday (Feb. 8th) from 5 to 7 p.m.

The family would like to thank the staff at Middlesex Hospital, Autumn Lake of Cromwell, and The Village at South Farms for their care and compassion over the past year.
